ATTENTION CLERGY FAMILIES

The following requests comes through Barbara from farmer Holly Bellows:

I am working on a project focusing on clergy spouses and their relationship with the congregation. I am interviewing women and men nationwide who are clergy spouses, divorced, gay, straight and widowed. The clergy spouses may be from all Christian denominations, Jewish or Muslim.

It is my hope to interview 200 clergy spouses by the end of the this year. This would be in confidence and it is your choice whether or not the use of your name in any future publication.

You can contact Holly as follows: HABellows@aol.com

Large Print liturgical resource material

SING PRAISE TO GOD is the new large-print CD that features 338 hymns from The Hymnal 1982 of the Episcopal Church, USA. The hymns included are in the public do-main, according to Church Publishing Company, New York, N.Y., publisher of The Hymnal 1982.

The hymns are formatted in Microsoft Word™ and are in 20 point type. They are laid out for use on 8½ by 11 inch pages. They can be downloaded from the CD and printed out as part of large-print service materials.

Material for the CD was compiled by Ann Dahlen, Large-Print Ministry, using in-formation provided by Church Publishing.

As with other materials formatted in Microsoft Word™, the hymns can be loaded into note-taker devices used by the blind and re-edited into Braille. The devices’ search function can be used to help locate passages quickly. The CD should also be useable in optical-character readers that can read material formatted in Microsoft Word™.

SING PRAISE TO GOD is one of three CDs offered by the Large-Print Ministry. The goal is to help blind, visually-impaired and others with Special Needs in their devotions and to be able to more fully participate in worship.

The other CDs are THE LARGE-PRINT BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER CD and PRAYERS & PSALMS FOR TODAY.

THE LARGE-PRINT BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER CD includes the entire 1979 Book of Common Prayer of the Episcopal Church, USA. It includes the Revised Com-mon Lectionary. The material is in 18-point Times New Roman font and is formatted in Microsoft Word™. It is laid out for 8.5 x 11-inch pages and can be used to help prepare Large-Print worship materials.

PRAYERS & PSALMS FOR TODAY can help those who are hurting in body, mind and/or spirit. It includes selections from Prayers and Thanksgivings, Prayers for the Sick, Prayers for Use by a Sick Person, Ministration at the Time of Death, and the entire Book of Psalms from the 1979 BCP.

While the prayers are from an Episcopal book, they may be helpful to people of other faiths as well

The PRAYERS CD is in APhont™, a font developed by American Printing House for the Blind. The CD is in Microsoft Word™. Most of the material is in 20-point type. It is laid out for use on 8.5 x 11-inch pages.

To order one CD, please send a self-addressed, stamped 6x9-inch envelope with four 42-cent stamps attached (five on a padded envelope) to Ann Dahlen, 1900 6th Ave., Apt. 513, Rock Island, IL 61201. These instructions are for ordering one CD. Please add more postage when ordering more than one CD. Please indicate which CD(s) you want.

A donation to help cover costs is ALWAYS appreciated as the Large-Print Ministry is a lay ministry that is not a program of any diocese, church or organization. Please make checks out to Ann Dahlen. For questions or further information, please contact Ms. Dahlen at: a.dahlen@att.net or largeprinthelp@att.net.
